How Could I Have Forgotten

How in the world could I have forgotten that when my bed runner was published in this April's issue of "The Quilt Pattern Magazine" That my design made the cover... Have I lost insight or am I blind.
I saw the issue never thought twice to look at the cover. Duh!!!! So yesterday when I was on Facebook, I saw that a few people made the bed runner from my pattern. I was so thrilled to see their interpretation of my work. I loved to see the different color choices...  So here is the photo of the cover of April's issue:

See the upper right picture, yup that's mine...
What do you think... Pretty freaking neat isn't it.  and here is the actual photo of it on my fence.

A Little Touch of Spring

So I thought I would share a touch of Spring with all of you especially here in the Northeast. It has been cold and rainy for days and I am sick of it so I think I need to pop a touch of Spring here to get people smiling. This is a group of applique' blocks I am working on for a Mystery Quilt-Along here on my blog just see the Mystery Quilt Along Page. With the way the Winter went with the big Blizzard this past February and the rain and the wind this week I think we all need a touch of spring.

So here is some photo's to make you smile and think of Spring....

This Bed Runner just published in the April 2013 issue of  The Quilt Pattern Magazine
screams Spring/Summer. I love this Bed Runner. and thrilled that they published it and what was even better is that it made the cover... See also the Hydrangea's they match perfectly...

This Flower screams Spring. It was one of two part of my Mystery Quilt Along that the
participants had to use the technique of Applique'. There are four of these in this quilt and I told everyone they could use there imagination as to what colors they used. I love purples and pinks...

So have we the fever of Spring yet I know I sure do...

Stay tuned for the Summer Mystery Quilt Along. I am working on some wonderful design options so we all can play, and if that doesn't excite you wait til I share my new Facebook page with you. It's still a surprise so stay tuned...

Oh What fun I had!!!

After the events of Monday, April 15th with the Boston Marathon and doing what I could to assist with Red Cross I chose to stay home yesterday and play for the better part of the day in my studio and created a project I got while I was at MQX. This is the cutest little wall hanging I could have found and it was super easy to make...

So this is a work in progress and all I have to do is to put my binding and some little bit of embellishments on it... I think I should have gotten an entire case of these types of blocks so I could make a huge quilt... Stay tuned for the completed project....

What fun I had in New Hamshire at MQX East

Last week I had the greatest opportunity to be able to go to MQX East in Manchester New Hampshire and OMG!!! What a time I had... I took three classes while I was there and I learned so much. All of them were fantastic. One of them I took was with one of the judges who was involved with judging my quilt. Scott Murkin who taught Basics to Domestic Machine Quilting. He taught me a ton of stuff in that class and then showed me the do's and don'ts of how I could better myself in my entries. I scored 74 of 100 points. Not too bad for my very first time entering a quilt in a national show... Though criticism can be hard I took this conversation with Scott as a learning experience and enjoyed out conversation.

I also had the opportunity to volunteer at the show and had a blast doing so... And the founder Janet Lee Greer Santeusanio welcomed me with open arms. She spoke with me as if I had been part of the group forever... One of the nicest people I met...

I felt as if when I were there people treated me like I truly belonged... I met two people from twitter so I can now cross those beautiful peeps off my to meet list... One of them is now a new found friend who wants to get together and sew, and how awesome is this she is only about an hour away from my house. Easy peasy... I can handle that...

I took some photo's of other quilts as well and the eye candy at the expo was so hard to resist. But we all know as quilters that you can't resist every piece of eye candy... I got a few items... one of which will be here by Mothers Day! Yeah ME!!! here that pic...

This will be used on my Viking 1070 Sewing Machine that I use for piecing... I can hardly wait to have it arrive in the mail... UPS Gotta love my men in brown...

A Little Help from my Friends

Good Morning Quilters I am seeking a wee bit of help from my friends.

I am asking you to leave comments here on my blog to answer a question:

What would you call these two patterns? I am a wee bit stumped. As much as I think I like it, I feel there is a love/hate relationship with my design and I have no clue what to call this. I am surprised as I usually never have a problem coming up with quirky names for patterns...

Please leave a comment on what you would name these patterns, I really appreciate your thoughts...

Another One Under My Belt

Good Morning Quilters I have another design that has been published and yes I am "Tickled Pink"...
In this months issue of "The Quilt Pattern Magazine" I had my bed runner published. and I still can't get use to it... Wishing that someday I will make the big time if I keep plugging away. How freaking kool is that...  So check out the on-line magazine and see my name in print...

I hope you like it. It is King size and is made with nine patch and a alternating star block.
