A Quilt for Charity

A few days ago I finally finished the Red Cross Charity Quilt, being used as one of the items in their silent auction next week at the Annual Hero's Breakfast. I was inspired to make this quilt when I showed the ladies at my local chapter house the quilt I finished for the New Sandy Hook Elementary School. This quilt will be shown in its entirety very soon.

Every year local people in my community are nominated for a Hero's Award through the American Red Cross. This year there is a silent auction and we hope to raise money for our local chapter... Here are some photo's of the quilt, along with a couple of close ups.... I do hope you enjoy and please, share your thoughts...

A Sign of Spring

As Spring trying very hard to appear I am reminded that warmer weather and sunnier days are ahead of us.

This beautiful orchid reminds us that though it has been bitterly cold outside the warm sunny days of spring are on there way. Mother nature is just trying to fool us with the snow that has fallen lately and last evenings storm isn't going to make me feel sad or intimidate me in any way... Mother Nature bring the spring weather on I"m ready and rearing to go!!!

Some Exciting News to Share

Hello quilters I am bursting at the seams. I wanted to share with all of you some very exciting news.  A few months back I posted that I was published with my first quilt named "Crossflower Boxes".  This was published in the December issue of the Quilt Pattern Magazine.

Well with that said I decided to bold and enter it in the MQX East Quilt Show in Manchester, NH this April and low and behold it was accepted. Life is just filled with all kinds of things. Can you imagine that I just started quilting just three yrs ago and now I am published and a quilt was accepted for competition. Here is the quilt that I entered...

I hope if you are there at MQX you will seek my quilt. Share your thoughts here...
